About Casco FCU

OUR STORY

Casco Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution that is proud to be member-owned and locally operated since 1954. With 70 years of service in Southern Maine, we've helped tens of thousands of our neighbors build the lives they want and deserve.

• Organized as The Maine League FCU on March 11, 1954

• Became Maine Central Federal Credit Union in 1968

• Merged with University of Maine Portland-Gorham FCU in 1975 and became Maine Educational FCU

• Gorham became the credit union’s permanent home in 1977 and the name was changed to Maine Educational-Gorham Community FCU

• In 1982 the name was shortened to Gorham Regional FCU

• In 1992 after opening in Gorham, Casco FCU moved to the facility it occupies today

• In 2002, the community charter expanded to include Cumberland County

• In April 2003 the credit union changed its name to Casco Federal Credit Union

OUR COMMITMENT TO ENDING HUNGER

In 2022, Casco Federal Credit Union helped contribute $1,000.434.19 to combat hunger in our Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger.
