Casco Federal Credit Union started in 1954 as the Maine League Federal Credit Union. Credit union employees and volunteers formed this credit union, because they were not allowed to borrow money from the credit union where they were employed. In 1967, the Officer Borrowing Bill became law, making it possible for officers and volunteers to borrow from their own credit union.
Through the years the credit union grew and merged with UMPG Federal Credit Union, forming the Maine Educational Federal Credit Union. Years later, the Maine Educational Federal Credit Union merged with the Gorham Community Federal Credit Union and formed Gorham Regional Federal Credit Union. Today as Casco Federal Credit Union, our Field of Membership includes anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Cumberland County, Maine.
Casco Federal Credit Union is committed to meeting your financial needs and exceeding your expectations.
