Crunchy vs. Creamy - Annual Peanut Butter Drive

Creamy or crunchy? Which do you prefer? Cast your vote by bringing a jar or two of your favorite peanut butter to our Annual Peanut Butter Drive. We will be collecting peanut butter at both Casco FCU locations from Monday, June 4th to Friday, June 22nd. At the end, we'll tally the votes and let you know which style of peanut butter is this year's champ.

All peanut butter collected will be donated to our two local food pantries: the Gorham Food Pantry and Catherine's Cupboard in Standish. Thank you for joining us in our Fight to End Hunger . . . and for helping us determine once and for all which kind of peanut butter is best! We appreciate your support.

Did you make $54,000 or less last year? Then you may be eligible to have your taxes prepared for free by a pro. Really! No catch, just a great free service made possible by CA$H Maine.
CA$H is a partnership of non- and for-profit partners working together to help empower individuals and families to achieve long-term financial success. Last year the Greater Portland branch of CA$H helped bring over $1.14 million in tax refunds to local households at no cost to them.
CA$H Greater Portland is now taking appointments to have a trained volunteer prepare and file your taxes for free. Call (207) 699-0753 to set up your appointment today. Or visit for more info.

Thank You, Janice!

Please join us in extending best wishes to Janice Link, who is retiring from Casco FCU on March 30th. Janice has been an esteemed member of our staff since 1991 and we don't know where our credit union would be without her. Her smile, sense of humor and compassion for others has been the foundation of our Gorham office since she was hired. Janice will be missed by everyone; staff and members alike.

Although we are sad to see her go, we are excited for Jan to start the next chapter of her life. May it be filled with grand-kids, family, friends and bowling! Team Casco would like to express our deepest gratitude to Janice for everything she has contributed to our lives, both professionally and personally. She truly is one of a kind and we are all so much better off having had this time with her.

Equifax Breach - What You Need to Know

Equifax reported a breach in September, with as many as 143 million Social Security Numbers, names and addresses from the company’s credit files potentially at risk.

Casco Federal Credit Union wants to help our members understand the Equifax breach.  Though this breach was not related in any way to Casco Federal Credit Union, our commitment is to assisting our members.  We’ve compiled links and resources to help our members learn more so they can take action to protect their identity and information.

It is strongly recommended that you enroll in a third-party credit monitoring service.

  • Equifax is also offering a one year of free monitoring protection through TrustedID for all consumers, even those not affected by the breach. After checking your potential impact, you will be given an enrollment date to return and sign up for the free service. TrustedID allows you to monitor your credit. It also provides identity-theft insurance and internet scanning of your social security number. Go to for more information.

Equifax has set up a dedicated call center at 866.447.7559 where you can speak to someone regarding any questions you may have about the breach.

We understand the importance of your personal information and want to make sure you know Casco Federal Credit Union is committed to keeping that information safe and secure.   If you have additional questions for us, please call 888.395.5588.

Effective 9/15 Same-Day ACH Payments

What do same-day ACH payments mean for your account? You might have gotten used to some lag-time between the transaction, and the money clearing from your account. This will be going away - for example, if you pay your cable bill by phone in the morning, the funds could be cleared from your account before 5:00 p.m. the same day. Learn more here.

Motorcycle Ride To Strike Out Hunger

Thank you to everyone who came out Saturday, 9/9 for our 1st Annual Ride to Strike Out Hunger! We had 29 bikes, raised over $1,100 for our local food pantries, and had one great day. We are so thankful for all of the riders, volunteers, donors, and community members who came together to make this event a success. We hope you join us again next year.
